a) Insurance

It’s a condition of booking that all the clients must have sufficient medical insurance for the duration of the tour. The insurance should fully cover all personal requirements including death, injury, medical expenses, repatriation in the event of accident or illness, cancellation or curtailment or the tour or damage or theft of client’s personal property. In addition, where a client undertakes activities like trekking, Rafting, Quad biking, cycling, camping and mountaineering they must ensure that the insurance covers such activities. If the client is unfortunate enough to have his property stolen or sustain injuries, this should be reported to the company immediately and where necessary report to the nearest police station

We assume no responsibility whatsoever for personal illness, injury, loss or damage to a person or property in connection with any service resulting directly from act of God, annoyance, delays, expenses arising from quarantine, strike, theft, force majeure, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civic disturbances, terrorism, government restriction or regulations or changes in hotel services in which Go Uganda Safari Limited has no control. Each of these companies is an independent corporation with its own management and is not subjected to the control of. Go Uganda Safari Limited

b) Jurisdiction

Go Uganda Safari Ltd is incorporated in the Republic of Uganda and it operates under the laws of Uganda and that is the only jurisdiction that applies to any contracts it makes with clients or agents.

c) Transportation

The company agrees to provide “4×4” wheel drive safaris vehicles, minibuses, land cruisers or other vehicles as required at the discretion of the company for the specific itinerary agreed. Although every effort is made to ensure that vehicles are provided in road worthy conditions, no liability can be accepted for breakdown, nor any damage or delay resulting to the hire as a consequence. In the case of a break down Go Uganda Safari Ltd will endeavor to provide a replacement vehicle as soon as is practical. The company’s code of conduct for guides is available on request. Clients must not ask guides to break these in any way. In the event that a guide does not follow the code the client /agent is asked to inform the company head office immediately. The company’s guide whose decision on all matters such as the route taken is final must drive company vehicles. The client will be liable for any damage caused to the vehicle by any interference by him with the vehicle including legal costs.

d) Accuracy of Information

The descriptions, information and opinions given by the company in respect of national parks, animal sightseeing, accommodation, itineraries, gorilla permits, security etc are given in good faith based on the latest information available to the company. The company cannot accept any responsibility liability for any errors or omissions given in such information.

e) National Parks

All National parks are under Uganda wildlife authority whose objective is to conserve and sustainably manage wildlife in protected areas to benefit the people of Uganda and the global community. Therefore you are free to enjoy, watch, photograph and leave your foot print but not to disturb, injure or collect any thing from the natural habitat. Entering the park is on your own risk, however Uganda wildlife authority ensures safety for visitors while in the park therefore try your best to abide by the regulations of the park.

f) Animal Viewing

Animal and birds are mobile and free to roam anywhere in search for food, water, shelter and can migrate in breeding season and hide away from predictors. Therefore, wildlife may not be where you want them to be. Go Uganda Safari ltd does not guarantee the viewing of wildlife. However, we will do our best to use park guides knowledge to have good sightings.

The longer you spend observing, waiting and watching in the field the more you will see.

g) Gorilla and Cimpanzee Permits

Full payment shall be sent at the time of booking and on receipt of payment the company will book permits for gorilla trekking in the relevant National Park as agreed with the client / agent. However, getting a gorilla permit is not a guarantee of seeing a gorilla as local conditions sometimes mean that access to the gorillas is made impossible at short notice. The company cannot be held responsible for any circumstance that might lead to gorilla viewing being cancelled, absence of the gorillas or border security problems. In the event of gorilla trekking being withdrawn at short notice, refunds are at the discretion of the relevant authority and not within the company’s control. If refunds are made available, the company passes them on to the client / agent excluding the 10% administration fees charged at the time of booking

Rescheduling of permits

Reschedules of permit reservations are not permitted. Any changes of dates will be considered as a cancellation and a re-booking. The cancellation policy will apply and rebooking for a new date will be at the full cost of a permit. See below as per UWA cancellation policy

h) Cancellation and Refund by Uganda Wildlife Authority

i) Cancellation refunds

A client may cancel a booking and UWA may refund certain amounts when a booking is cancelled, as indicated below. All refunds shall be affected at UWA Headquarters in Kampala through the Reservation Office. And refunds may take about a week to process.

UWA will retain the following percentages upon cancellations:

  • 0 – 8 days to tracking date – no refund
  • 9 – 45 days to tracking date – 75% (25% refund to client)
  • 46 – 90 days to tracking date – 50% (50% refund to client)
  • 91 days and above to tracking date – 30% (70% refund to client)
  • No refund will be made on the 30% deposit under any circumstances

The cancellation refund regulation will apply to visitors who cancel prior to their tracking dates.

Cancellation will be made in writing and UWA will consider the date of receipt of notification as the cancellation date.

ii) Failure to Track refunds

Visitors who fail to track the gorillas (especially in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park) as a result of the gorilla movement to the neighboring country shall receive a full refund on their permits.
